DO THE RIGHTEOUS SUFFER?

God is
pleased with a man's unselfish devotion to Him. It is goodness for its
own sake, when men have such a devotion to righteousness that they would
not sin, regardless of whether or not God blessed them as a result of
it. At times God may permit the Satanic forces to sift your faith, your
goodness, and your piety in the furnace of affliction, and not tell you
why. He did not tell Job. At a time like this, when we do not know why,
then we must remember that suffering may be, and sometimes is, to
vindicate God's faith in us. The only purpose for it is that God has
been challenged by the devil. This book is a compilation of
transcriptions of taped messages on the book of Job, taught by Dr.
Freeman in the Charismatic Teaching Centre series on Poetic and Wisdom
Literature.
